Support Group Re-cap

It was great to see my doc and the nutritionists last night - hi Dr Mehta and Christina, and Debbie!
I made the trek with the woman who inspired me to get the surgery - we had lots of giggles on the way and got to compare notes of banded life -

Meeting people who are just starting the journey brought back memories and feelings of where I was a year and half ago - depressed , scared, skeptical that the surgery would even work.  I also got a kick in the pants - I'm not done yet - and will always be a work in progress.

I hate speaking in public and they dragged me up in front of the room to tell people about my support system - I tried to make it through the speech without cursing but ....there were a few that slipped through - no eff bombs - I'll call it a win.

I told them all about the support I get from you ~ and I told them to watch that Crazy B Bandedwendy on youtube!  I told them they must exercise and do it every day.  Not sure if any of it sunk in but I think I was pretty honest.
The band saved my life - no mas depression.  It helped me not only lose weight but break the cycle of depression and binging.  I am forever grateful for that.  I mean - yes wearing cute clothes and feeling sassy is an awesome side effect but the real big win for me has been mental stability and less stress/body image issues.

Happy Friday everyone!  Have a great weekend get out and live life!

  2. Awesome! I am going to support group tomorrow! :)
I need to go to the nutrition meeting, I haven't got to go to any of those yet! I'm learning that exercise is key. Because my food is not a problem but I didn't lose anything this week. It HAS to be lack of exercise.
