Ten Things Thursday

Dang ~ time flys!  Thanks Laura for my favorite day of the week EVER!

1. I survived last weekend ~ Hallelujer!

2.  I took Tuesday as a day for ME! - Road ride bright and early with my Brother in Law who was crashing on our couch for a few days...I only worked two hours then went to the beach and then had a nite out on the town....got wastypants with a few friends from work and ended up sleeping at a friends house and doing the walk of shame in clothes from the night before  #classybroad.
It was worth it - had to blow off steam!

3. Going running this morning.

4.  I went for a MTB on monday night to blow off more steam from the weekend and am now covered in "chigger" bites...thats what we call it here but really its the nymph lone star ticks that you cant see - they bite the hell out of you and it itches for days - I will not be going into the woods until september...that makes me sad.  It even causes people to become allergic to red meat ~ read about it here - reason number 110 I am happy to be vegetarian

5. Eating is no bueno - thank god I'm tight or it would be really ugly

6.  Not much to say just that I've been crazy at work

7.  I really want to go here

8.  Praying that all my hard work will pay off and a pay day will rain down upon me.

9 -10 - meh not much else to say - gotta get my sneaks on and get a sweat on!

Weekend...immature rant

This weekend is nuts for me - work is crazy - my eating has been horrific - I swear I would snort a pixie stick if I had one.  Traffic is an effing nightmare, people are mean, and I didn't exercise this morning because I had to clean the house, didn't walk the dogs because I had to clean the house.  My lawn is knee high and the dogs need baths, My car is dirty, my bikes are dirty, there is no food in the house and I ran out of protein powder so I am stuck on oatmeal right now.  My appointments all run late, I have yet to set up this afternoon's house showings and tomorrow is an even bigger nightmare - no clue how to be in three places at once. Stress is off the charts.

It has become totally clear to me that the only thing standing between me and goal and living an awesome life is work - yep I blame work and money today for my woes.

I truly believe (and this goes against all self help/Buddhist/enlightenment thoughts) that money would set me free.  Yep - I would be able to train properly, rest properly, my house would be clean, my hair would be pretty, I would be able to afford good skin cream and makeup remover not have to use the hand soap to take off my mascara.  I would have garden full of fresh veggies and fruit.  My car would be clean, I'd have yummy healthy food around the house, I could plan a zen getaway because we all know stress leads to death and obesity.  I would have a portfolio with stocks and things and would walk through life worrying only about how to shave a few seconds off my next race time.  I would have time to save the world or at least get my non profit of the ground and help animals who need me.  I would have a vita mix and eat raw food.  I would have parties and not be ashamed to have people at my house.  I could spontaneously meet friends for drinks and dinner at any restaurant in town because I could afford it and I would even treat them.

I would be free and life would be perfect.

Off to start my day - wearing the same dress I wore yesterday - hoping for no stains on it and totally over the humidity - wishing I had the luxury of pulling the covers over my head, cranking the A/C and waking up rich.

Ten Things Thursday

1. Its still humid...gross ~ going for mtb in a minute - easy spin for fun

2. I ran a 5K yesterday morning - thought I was going to pass out - ran it in 32 minutes...I want to get back to the 29:30!

3.  Got my nails did yesterday - with the new "it" color

4.  Nothing exciting to report with the food - just that yesterday's Sugar Free attempt ~ fail but the good news = its a new day!

5. Andrea is crushing it - losing every week  and looking great!

6. Tonight is our annual work summer party - I'm looking forward to it for a change.  Should be a good time - its on the ocean in Bridgehampton.

7. I've got to get back to boot camp - I'm feeling like flubber - this lazy ass honey badger has not done a crunch or lifted a kettle bell  in months.

8. I might just play hooky and go to the ocean today ...I've been trying for days to do this and its not happened

9.  Would the world fall apart if I let me phone go to voice mail?

10. I blame this little farm stand for blowing me out of the water with  their awesome home made food -I have decided not to grocery shop and only purchase home made food from here.
I'm no longer in denial that I am a slacker in the kitchen  - why beat yourself up when someone else can do it better.

Sunrise....and weigh in

Its 5:30 in the morning - the sun is just rising.  I am cranky.  I want to go back to bed and sleep in.
But I have a friend to meet at 6:30.  Road riding this morning.  I need this.

Yesterday I did't work out and was so cranky and craving sugar something fierce!  Dare I say there was a tantrum thrown in the evening when I wanted to go for ice-cream, and Mo and I took the dogs for a walk instead.  My inner sugar devil pitched a fit but I rode it out and watched the olympics instead.

Was yesterday a sugar free day? Nope.  Did I abuse sugar to calm down and as a reward after my successful appointment, yup.  Am I going to get my ass on the bike today and try like hell to do better than yesterday - that would be a fuck yeah!

Ronnie has set herself a new goal of running a 10 minute mile - she is such a bad ass inspiration! I know she'll do it because lets face it, she is a rock star!  She also wanted to know what our fitness goal are?

This got me thinking about what my goals were in the beginning of the year - this is what my PLAN was ~ I'm not hating on it - still doing okay with the overall theme but the follow through is a problem.  I talk a big game in the beginning and then somehow hope like hell for the results to go in my favor  - its just not good enough.  I am lazy... yes - thats the truth,  the middle step is where I fail and that is the difference between being at goal by now and being where I am.

Second half of post - after ride:

48 miles on the road  ~ had 2 gu, protein shake, coffee and fruit salad - its only 12:41 lets keep the good decisions rolling.  My weigh in was 161.6  Shockingly still 20 pounds from goal.

So using Ronnie's SMART model (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time Specific.)for goal setting this is what I've got.

Lose 10 pounds by October 14th (also the Serpents Back race)
Thats a little more than 2 months away.  I would also like to place in my age group.  - tough group women's 36-40.
Yes - thats two goals but hopefully one will be a byproduct of the other.

I leave you with photos from this morning's ride

Warrior off to Battle

Still doing battle with the sugar monster.
I would love to invent a "patch" like the nicotine patch for this - but alas I will have to settle for doing the hard work - emotional growth and being on top of my food.

Check out this post about sugar addiction - very cool.

I will be posting  a weigh in today....time to get real serious.

I can't handle the truth

Its true....I fell off the sugar wagon on my birthday - 1 week ago and the sugar binge has continued....WTF.   I wish that whenever I wanted sugar, a giant fist would appear and punch me in the face.....Um hello obvious addiction that does not serve me....

Moving on....today is the first day of the rest of my life...I will only put goodness  into my body today.

Its been two days since I worked out - I'm calling it recovery days and its been hot as ass crack on bus in India up in here.  I have been floating in the bay after work - that kinda counts - right?

My friend met with my Dr the other day and is moving ahead on her lap band journey....I need to pull my S H together to be a good band buddy/mentor.  I'm just going to focus on two things - move my body and just say no to sugar - it does not serve my long term or short term goals

Remember my rant on the drivers here...well this is one guys solution - If I saw this in my rear view mirror I'd think twice about being a douche.

My plan for today...liquids...
Coffee
walk dogs on beach
morning shake
green juice
some fruit
protein shake
Swim instead of float
I have a cocktail party to go to tonight  so I'll plan ahead and eat first...

Ten Things Thursday ~ Hamptons Edition

Its August here....and the elite of the most obnoxious people are here...urgh.
I have to love them b/c they keep our economy booming but boy do they know how to work a girls nerve!  The larger the range rover the worse the driving....don't even get me started on the hummer drivers...

2. I love when a celebrity bitch smacks rude old dudes Go Katie Lee! Read about it here

1.  Jay Z and Beyonce are in my hood this summer ~ they rented Sandcastle - the most over the top house on the planet  - I've been in it - it has a bowling ally and rock climbing wall ~ Check it out

I used to ride ponies on the field where this house was built - It used to grow potatoes ...

3.  Last night I went paddle boarding and hung out at the bay for sunset in honor of my Friend Andrew - who passed away unexpectedly last fall...I ate 3 brownies in his honor...bad girl!

4.  The A/C Broke at work today so I had some froyo - now I just feel sick...balls.

5. Tonight mo is taking me out to dinner - fancy Italian restaurant woohooo - hope I don't get stuck

8.325 ~ Bentleys are so lame....I see them everywhere....i mean why don't you just wear a shirt that has your bank account balance on it....gosh!

91/2 ~ I just don't get city folk...they spend fuckloads of money to come to the country then bitch about the bugs and nature and sit in their over sized houses blasting the AC...seems kinda dumb to me

11.478  - Every morning in August there is a woman who runs on the beach where we all walk our dogs - I call her Franken Runner b/c she drags one leg and is old as fuck.  I wish she would just walk - it hurts to watch her run - and honey runs like three miles and she must be like a size negative 1..anyway - everyday she gives my dogs the stink eye - and everyday I say hello - I mean she know's this is the dog beach...why doesn't she run somewhere else....come on!

9.  I'm taking today off from exercise - yesterday I rode 30 and paddled and swam... even an olympian needs a recovery day.

10. Teaching Mo how to drive a stick is fun.
Beach Party

B/c Everyone drinks skinny girl from the bottle

Another McLauren

We spread my old bosses ashes over the field we used to ride in at the farm
